Which roles should you play and why?

Most established online business owners play both roles: The role of the marketer and the role of the offer owner who uses affiliate marketers to promote their offers.

I have held both roles successfully.

And so, in this course, I’ll talk about both roles.

As for you… I believe you should and can do both.

If you sell anything- a course, a workshop, a product- you’ll reach more people and make more money if you partner with other affiliate marketers and sell to their audience, in exchange for revenue share.

To give you an example (and I’ll have a case study for you later), I once paid an affiliate partner well over $10,000 to promote one of my courses. I personally made double the money from those sales ✌️

AND I gained close to 200 brand-new subscribers, too.

Basically, say you have no audience or a small audience. You can make a course and partner with an affiliate marketer and sell the course to their audience. This way, even if you do not have an audience of your own, you can still make sales.

AND… this is big: when someone buys from you, you can add them to your email list, and now you have new audience members… who are also your buyers!

How cool is that?!

In fact, I’d say it is much more useful to start as an offer owner partnering with affiliate marketers before you become an affiliate marketer yourself.

Because to be an affiliate marketer, you will need to have an audience.

But to start out as the offer owner, all you need is a solid offer/product and a willing affiliate marketer or ten to promote your offer to their audience.

Now here’s a better idea: Why not do both simultaneously?

You cannot promote other creators’ offers without a decent-sized email list (in case you’re a brand new creator), but you can sell other affiliate products with your blog. It’s a slower process, but it can, and it will grow to be a bigger venture, as mine has.

If you do not have an email list, you can start by doing what I did… become an affiliate for a SaaS product (you just have to look at the software you’re already using, and then find out if they have an affiliate program. If they do, you can simply join that).

Simultaneously, create an offer or two of your own. And then work with affiliate marketers to promote your offers so you can both make money and you can build your own audience (email list) with buyers.
